At just four years old, young Tyler is already a seasoned turkey hunter. This was his third year accompanying his dad Russ in the woods pursuing Utah gobblers. This year Tyler called all the shots on the hunt, told dad where to set up, even told him “that’s the one” as dad squeezed the trigger. The gobbler may not be big, but dad guarantees, the memory is sure a “big one.”

The Sorenson Family has had quite the turkey year already. This is 11 year old Kelsey who is all smiles holding her first turkey she shot at 15 yards on the Book Cliffs. Grandpa Sorenson also connected after Grandma Zora called in this tom using her mouth, Zora doesn’t even use a mouth piece to make her turkey call.

[CG :2 LineShawn HormanCan’t wait to pull the trigger!]

This is 11 year old Sarah Horman after experiencing the thrill of a pheasant hunt on a beautiful late February day. Dad says, Sarah is working on her hunters safety and can’t wait to pull the trigger on some birds after her birthday this fall.

On the second day of the hunt Wylie and his dad came across a big tom with his hens. Wylie shot it on the ground and chased it down. It flew up like a pheasant and he finished it out of the air. This is Wylie’s second season and second turkey. The next week Wylie called in a big tom for his dad. They were both super excited for both being successful on their early season tags.

And finally our winner tonight is a sight you don’t see very often. Ryan was driving down I-15 with his kids a few days ago when they came across this scene. He writes, “the Utah Highway Patrol responded to reports of “fowl Play” on I-15 during the morning commute on the northbound lanes in Sandy.” His kids were so thrilled to see that Mr. And Mrs Goose had their own police escort while they made their long waddling journey safely down the freeway. Well Ryan, your snapshot sure had our judges talking and now you waddle out of here with our big prize for having the Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week.
