Snapshot of the Week: Aug. 1, 2015

These cute kids kick it off with some rainbows at the end of the rainbow. The Smith family was up fishing at Strawberry and made it back to shore just in time to see a rainbow appear right where they were fishing. 11 year old Lauren was pretty keen on idea of cleaning their catch. Katie, not so much.

Chris took the challenge and shot the Total Archery Challenge 3D shoot up at Snowbird. Chris says this is one of the most realistic archery tournaments, he’s ever been to. Even though Chris is afraid of heights he still leaned over to make this shot down a steep rock cliff. The best picture his buddy Rich took of him that day.

Mike and Julie decided to soak up some of Utah’s backcountry and camp and fish at their favorite Central Utah stream. Julie drew first blood with this beautiful cutt. Not to be outdone, Mike latched into this toad of a brown. Julie is from Montana, so Mike says it’s great to show his wife that we have great fly fishing in our neck of the woods as well.

Check out this beautiful shot. Johnny and his buddy Ryan hiked up the timpaookee trail in search of some wildflowers and scenery to take some pictures of. While they were setting up camp, this ram came cruising right up to them. Johnny says it was such a great shot with the ram right in the middle of some Indian Paintbrush.

But our winner tonight found himself face to face with some rocky mountain goats. Kevin went on a solo back packing trip to Lake Ibantik in the High Unitahs. He awoke to the sounds of grunts and hooves on the rocks, unzipped his tent and outside stood seventeen rock mountain goats. Kevin says chills shot through him as he knew how rare of a moment he had in front of him. This is one of the most memorable experiences Kevin has had in the outdoors. No doubt Kevin a great experience and the part you captured not only this great shot, but now our great prize for having…the snapshot of the week.
