Bucket list trip. Kodiak Island first ten days of December. Sitka Blacktail and sea ducks. It hadn’t snowed as much as usual, so deer were scattered, high, and hard to get. finally had opportunity on day three. long shot uphill, but made it count. Sea ducks were a blast. got trophy ducks that are beautiful. they are crazy to hunt . never saw ducks that can fly so fast. but my brother and I both got the big three. Harlequin , Barrows goldeneye, and Old Squaw/longtails. So much different from hunting at home. loved every cold, wet minute. Now I want hunt more Sea ducks, I think I’m hooked.

This was a Tiger Musky I caught at Pineview Reservoir over the summer. The Musky was caught off of Cemetery Point using a 5-of-diamonds spoon, fishing from shore. I was using a 7ft heavy action bait casting rod with 50# braid as a bite guard and 20# fluorocarbon as a mainline. The fish came in the later part of a long day of fishing. She hit at the start of a long cast, while the spoon was slow-hopping over the bottom. She fought for 5-10 minutes before coming to the net, jumping clear of the water three full times. It sure felt like longer during the fight! After some grip-and-grins, she was safely released. The fish measured 47″ long.
My son Seth Shepherd, caught this Northern Pike near Craig,CO. Fished all weekend, and on the last day we were getting ready to leave when he caught this 37″ Pike. Topped the whole trip off watching my son catch the fish of his life.

I drew a panguitch lake early hunt after 15 years. I hunted the hole hunt and chased many bulls until the 2nd to last day and was able to tag this 6 point with my uncle Randle and cousins. It was so much fun.
