Chukars vs Upland Game Hunters in Utah’s West Desert Mountains

The Chukar Partridge, also known as red-legged devils, are some of the toughest upland game birds to hunt. This is not because they are particularly hard for bird dogs to point and flush, or for hunters to even shoot. What really does hunters in, is the steep rocky terrain where chukars live. Some of the steepest mountains in Chukar country are in Utah’s West Desert Mountains, where we join renowned hunter, Bret Wonnacott and his English Setters, Sunnie and Rox, in the search for Chukar coveys. Along the way we get to see incredible dog work, astounding views, and fast action when the birds take flight.
