Fish Tech Fishing Report for 3/9/2013

Hyrum Reservoir & State Park

Fishing is still hot for rainbows. Try using white or chartreuse tube jigs, or try ice flies tipped with shrimp, wax worms or mealworms. Some anglers are catching perch. The ice is still very good in most spots, but it can be unpredictable near the inlet.

Fish Lake

Ice is still 20 inches thick with a little snow on top. Access is still good for ATVs. Fishing is fast for perch and small trout just outside the weeds in 12 to 25 feet of water. You can catch larger rainbow trout and splake at depths of 20- to 40-feet, either on the bottom or suspended over deep water. Try using small jigs and ice flies tipped with mealworms, waxworms, nightcrawlers or cut bait like chub, sucker, shiner or perch.
