It’s shaping up to be a great dry-fly year. Hi, I’m Nate Miller with Fish Tech Outfitters, tonight I’m going to show you a few methods to improve your accuracy and deliver that fly to the fish.
Most of the time when people are casting, I tell them to just bring their arm out, have it at a really comfortable angle. Maybe tilt it out. Just where ever is comfortable to really, to make that stroke. However, when you’re really going for accuracy, you actually want to bring the rod in a little tighter to your body so you’re actually sighting right down the rod as you’re casting and you’re watching that line travel to the target.
We’re casting the new Sage One here which is, without a doubt, the most accurate rod I have ever fished. But without the right skills it still does us no good. In the right hands though, it’s just deadly, deadly accurate, but it all comes back to having a steady arm and it’s all in muscle memory. As long as you keep your hand moving in a straight direction, bring the rod up center of the line, you’ll deliver that fly to the target. Now tonight’s fishing line.
