Loa, Utah Fish Hatchery to Re-Open with $56 Million Facelift

The Loa, Utah fish hatchery has been closed for nearly a decade after an infestation of New Zealand mud snails forced a shutdown in 2014. But thanks to a 56-million dollar fund from the Utah Legislature, the hatchery will soon reopen after a massive facelift. When it’s finished, it will be the most productive hatchery in the state, producing 350-thousand pounds of fish per year.
