I was able to draw the public tag at Redd Ranches. The team treated us so well and our guide Tim gave 100%. Such an amazing experience to hear so many elk bugling. All of the hunters with our group had once in a lifetime experiences during the day that we shared at dinner together. Great guides, great food and the most beautiful area.

My oldest boy “Porter” was lucky enough to draw a big bull tag on the Manti at the age of 13. He had never harvested an animal before which made this magical memory even that much sweeter. To be able to take an old mature bull that was on the decline was a moment he will never forget. We put on a lot of miles morning and night and he was able take this old bull the second to last day of the hunt.

Derrin’s wife Cheryl got a call in mid September from the division saying that someone had turned in their CWMU Buck Pronghorn tag and that she was next on the list and could obtain the tag if she wanted it! They headed down for a fun weekend visiting with grandkids in the area, and went out early in the morning to hunt. It only took 20 minutes to find this buck and Cheryl made a great shot at 200 yards and by 8:30 they were back playing with the grandkids again. This wasn’t Cheryl’s first buck lope, but it was her biggest!

Gene Castellano with the perfect hook set pose. A brown trout put the perfect bend in the rod and the sun highlighted his blue glass fly rod. A moment of near perfection.
