I landed this beauty of a fish Aug 19th this yr. My family and some high school buddies do this self guided trip each year. This is by far our biggest catch in 15 years doing this trip. Alaska biologist said it was the biggest halibut he has checked this year in Alaska caught using rod and reel. 81” 288lbs! It was a fish of a lifetime with family and good friends. Tight Lines!
Rainier’s (1 year old Welsh Springer Spaniel) first wild bird. Dusky Grouse in Wasatch Mountain State Park.
I went night fishing with at Strawberry with a couple of friends and managed to boat this beautiful cutthroat. It weighed 4.1 pounds and measured 23 1/2 inches. With millions of stars out and a moonless night, the only sounds were that of fish jumping and jet airliners over head. Even Alaska would have a hard time competing with this! P. S. This is an update to an earlier submission, but I’m smiling in this photo.

While up hunting for some elk in cache National forest i found myself on a peak up above old Ephraims grave! I was watching the storm roll in as I heard a couple of close bull bugles I saw the opportunity to take a picture of the sun poking through the clouds as it shown down on my rzr. As I got hopeful the storm would just miss Me and I could pursue those bugles I heard the storm came right at me forcing me to take shelter then back to camp. Wasn’t able to find the elk but it was sure pretty for a couple minutes.

I was invited to a trip to El Capitan for a 5 day trip to Alaska and 3 days of fishing. This was truly a trip of a life time, it was truly an amazing time with 7 friends/co-workers. We was able to limit out everyday and we also landed a 108 lb halibut the first day. The next 2 days was rough seas but still landed another 70 lb halibut and limiting out the second and third day.

Hawk catching the sunset. Early September in Bear Lake, Utah.
I put my canaries out on our covered deck just in front of our kitchen window so they could get a little fresh air. This hawk thought they looked delicious.
Emma loves fishing, she seems to catch them all and dad doesn’t get a chance to fish he is to busy getting hers off the hook and baited the hook! Great time, at Scofield:)
