My 14 year old son Austin is a fishing fanatic. Any spare moment he has he is out fishing. Which isn’t easy with all of his football and wrestling practices he has going on. He loves all types of fishing whether it be bass fishing, ice fishing, fly fishing, surf fishing at the ocean or fishing from his paddle board at kaysville ponds. However his favorite place to fish is fish lake. We do several trips a year in both the summer and winter there. We just spent the 4th of July weekend down there and had a great time and caught a lot of fish. Austin wants to fish the whole time so we would get up at 5am every morning to fish from shore. Then spend time on the boat trolling and catching perch off the weed line during the day and back to fishing from shore until nightfall. Our last morning there we got to witness one amazing sunrise which I took a picture of. Even my crappy old iPhone couldn’t screw up such a beautiful shot. I then got another great picture of Austin fishing with that beautiful sunrise as a great backdrop. Hard to beat experiences like that! Austin must have caught 30 fish that morning, me not so much😊. We just watched your most recent episode at Mantua that we DVRed and thought those 2 pictures would make a great snapshot of the week.

3 1/2 pound largemouth pb!
Me and my dad headed up to the mountains to do a little bit of fishing for his birthday. We hooked into quite a few fish and even some pretty nice sized ones. A couple minutes before we were going to leave we doubled up on a brown and my dads PB tiger trout! I also caught a pretty nice sized cutthroat which was my best fish of the trip. Definitely a fun successful birthday trip for my dad and me!

Last month we were driving down South Fork canyon by Huntsville and a bear ran across the road right in front of us. The bear got on the other side of the road and just into the brush it stood up and looked back. We looked at the side hill right by the road and saw these little guys. What a fun sight to see these cubs calling for their mom. We only stayed for a few minutes to make sure they could get back to her. This is the first bear we have seen in 20 years living by there.

My parents came out for visit, first time in 2 years. Got to spend Father’s day just my dad and I fishing Willard bay. My dad had never heard of a wiper and never caught a walleye. We caught 2 perch, 6 walleye, and my dad got a great 6 lb wiper that put up a great fight. However it didn’t make it home after taking the picture and putting him on a steel stringer he poped the clip and straightened the stringer to live to fight another day. We had a great trip, made some great memories and had a great fish fry. There will definitely be some more fishing trips in the future
