Kanyon Daley’s Remarkable Hunting Season For his first hunt of the season, Kanyon set off with a pronghorn tag mentored to him by his Grandpa Shane. With expert spotting from his dad, Greg, we located 9 pronghorns with one buck on the first day. Using a Montana pronghorn decoy, we stalked within 50-60 yards of the buck. Kanyon made a great muzzleloader shot, dropping him in his tracks. In Kanyon’s next hunting adventure, he once again received a mentored tag. This time, Kanyon’s dad, Greg, had waited 25 years to draw an elusive Mountain Goat Tag. When his time finally came, he decided it would be a once in a lifetime memory for everyone if he mentored it to Kanyon to make this his best hunting season yet. The first three days of the hunt were a struggle with white out conditions and 6 inches of snow. However, the kids enjoyed snowball fights and sledding. Finally, the weather cleared, and the hunt was on. When the goats were located, they were 11600 feet up a steep cliff. It took a lot of hiking and waiting patiently for the goats to move to the right side of the mountain. Kanyon made an impressive 50-yard shot, and then the work began to transport the goat 2 ½ miles down the steep mountain. The hunts have been an excellent experience for all family and friends involved. We believe Kanyon is the GOAT, greatest of all time! His season is not over yet; he still has a deer and elk tag to fill.

After being bummed out that I couldn’t connect on my limited entry bull elk hunt my son Kayden was able to take his first buck on his first hunt opening morning. He took this little 3 point with one shot up on the Wildcat unit! It made all of the hard work we’d put in over the last month well worth it. Kayden, his little brother Jax and I were all there for this awesome memory. In the backdrop is Tabby Mountain
