When a little boy wants to go fishing, nothing can stop him! My grandson Ridge Rogers of Oak City wanted to get one more fishing trip in before the fall weather turned bad. But no adults could take him. That didn’t stop him and his friend Macray as they hoped on their bikes with fishing poles over their shoulders and headed out to fish in the small ditch that ran through town. Imagine all the grown-ups surprise when Ridge came home with this whopper that made it through all the mountain streams to end up in the town ditch! It was so heavy he had to put it in a garbage bag to carry it home on his bicycle. His smile says it all!
My daughter Sidney Larsen’s first buck. It’s a 3×2 and she named him LeRoy. She got it on the first shot. Hunted several day on Monroe Mountain in Central Utah and shot on the second weekend of the deer hunt, October 25. It’s a littler 3×2 and she named him LeRoy. Once buck was down, we had a photo op for about 5-10 minutes. Here is a classic selfie she took. Proud Dad moment. and a great selfie.
We took advantage of one of the last good weather windows on the Green River below Flaming Gorge and caught a few nice fish. My oldest son, Hudson, caught the first and last fish of the trip and the picture is of the last one just a few minutes before we go to the take out. The kids had so much fun and they can’t wait to go fishing again!
This might be the coolest shot I have ever captured. It took several tries and I had to lay on the muddy ground to pull it off. Thankfully the fish were active and gave me a few chances to get it right. I doubt I will ever get a shot this cool again. Just right place, right time, and the right moment. Nothing better than spawn colored brook trout in the fall!
Family swan hunt evening 2024. We enjoyed incredible weather with lots of birds flying. All of the kids put in solid effort on vocalizing their best swan call to lure passing birds into shooting range. Finally their hard work payed off and we decoyed a group of swans, and taking a great bird home. Truly an enjoyable evening hunt.

Jaxon is at it again! Spent the weekend at bullfrog, caught 4 different species! This cat faught like crazy! It was so awesome watching him reel it in.
Tana (10 years old) took a hiking trip with her dad (Bj) and her brother (Kasyn) to the top of mount Timpanogos this fall and was surprised to find the mountain goats as curious of her as she was about them. Tana loves spending time in the wilderness with her family camping, hunting and fishing.
Beautiful red sunrise over ogden marsh, this was breath taking! The hunting was ok but this sunrise made it a memorable morning for me and my brother.
Kelly Beckstead drew a Utah moose tag after applying for 29 years. She mentored her 15 year old grandson Max. On the 2nd day of the hunt he shot this beautiful bull that measured over 53” wide! Max was so excited and couldn’t thank his grandma enough for the opportunity to harvest this amazing bull!
This year I drew out a bull moose tag at woodruff creek south. It was my first time hunting big game and I was super lucky to draw this out. It is also a special place because my father tagged a moose there 17 years ago and my brother got his elk there last year. My next door neighbor all my life has been Ryan Foutz who is the operator for this unit. It was really special because Ryan and his son (who I grew up with) Austin guided me. This hunt was made extra special because I was surrounded by my neighbors, my brother and my father. I couldn’t have gotten this moose without them.
