Bentlee wanted to hunt the minute her step dad introduced her to it. In September of 2020 he took her on her first deer hunt with him. She made getting her Hunter’s education a priority and was ready to hunt the minute she was given the opportunity. My husband got her an elk tag and on opening day of an any bull unit she took a shot on the first bull she had a chance at. She was able to make a great shot at 620 yards. She used an old pair of her step sisters hunting boots that were a tad big. By the time she had hiked 7 miles and over 3000 ft elevation gain her feet were blistered and sore. Bentlee was exhausted but she didn’t complain or pout. She literally limped off that mountain packing out the head herself with a new respect for the work it takes to harvest an animal and a better understanding of the labor of love that goes into the food we have at our table and are blessed to enjoy. She couldn’t have done without her step dad or step brother. It would be hard to say who was prouder that day. *the scenic picture is one she took herself hiking up the day before the hunt

I’ve started hunting with the camera and my back yard is producing some great pictures. This is one that has started showing up regularly.

Escaped the cold of Northern Utah and headed south. We fished for Bull Reds in Corpus Christi, TX with a good friend and my youngest son. Hooked into a 44 inch / 33 pound monster of a fish and couldn’t stop smiling for days! Almost 40 minutes of fighting, we netted, measured, weighed and kissed this beautiful specimen as we watched it swim away to get even bigger. Moments like this are what dreams are made of.
My granddaughter Cabella Rogers age 10 snapped this photo a block from home near an irrigation pond. This nice 3×4 was enjoying a beautiful Millard County Sunset.

My friend invited me on a duck hunt out by the great salt lake so I took him up on his offer. We got set up and had a great afternoon hunting ducks in the marsh. On our way back to the truck the sunset and the ducks in the front of the boat made for a great photo to capture the memories of the hunt that day.
