One of our last boating trips of the year and our first time targeting striped bass. My brother hooked into a good one just as the sun was setting on some incredible scenery.
13-year-old Jack Ruth got his first buck in Tooele County on the evening of October 20th. The deer has one antler, which seems to be a genetic trait of a herd in this area. Jack’s father Daniel and family friend Gary helped Jack pack out this big boy, who they estimate is about 200lbs. Jack’s whole family is so proud of his accomplishment and look forward to a full freezer.

My best friend flew in from out of town and we wanted to go photograph some wildlife. We woke up super early to go hike up to Lake Catherine (big cottonwood) to scope out for moose and deer. As we were coming up on Lake Mary we decided it was a good time to stop and have a little snack. When we packed everything back up to continue our hike we spotted this little buck having the same idea. He may need a napkin with that drool.
