Snapshot of the Week: March 21, 2015

Out on Strawberry, back in February Randy spotted another fisherman eyeing his catch. He grabbed his camera, just in time to snap this shot of this golden eagle with it’s claws at the ready, right before it snatched up one of Randy’s fat rainbows off the ice.

After a long pursuit straight up a mountain, Wade’s young pups were able to tree this female just long enough to take some great pictures. Nothing better than getting some training in during the pursuit season.

Ron was driving down a dirt road near Benson when he spied this raptor out of the corner of his eye. Ron, slowed, got his camera ready and slowly back up and to his surprise the bird stayed put. He grabbed this great shot and left, leaving the raptor to eat in his breakfast in peace.

Shay was riding through Zion National Park with his kids, Talon and Lexi when they came across this youngster hanging out with his dad. Shay says, every time the big ram would lay down, the youngster would run up and give him a head butt, as if to say “dad come and play with me”.

But our winner tonight, took the kids fishing and came home with a huge fish tale. Kyle and his brother took the kids to a local community pond last week. The kids were catching small planter rainbows, when 10 year old Colin yelled out that he had a “big one” on. Colin handed the rod to his dad so he could reach down and pull the monster out. Kyle says the smile on his nephews face was almost as big as the fish which was 8 inches back to belly and 23 inches long. A true monster Colin that has landed your uncle the big one as he just won…. our snapshot of the week.
