Thermal Infrared Wildlife Detection System Comes to Utah

Utah SR 73 is the highway that goes out to Eagle Mountain. 4,000 people a day use this road to get back and forth to work, but it also goes right through a wildlife migration corridor. The city of Eagle Mountain and the DWR have come up with an innovative idea. It’s the first of it’s kind in Utah and they are hoping it will reduce the amount of accidents that vehicles have with wildlife.

  • I hope this works. In the 1980’s I used to travel up 8400 West between 3500 South and 5400 South. I counted at least 20 deer hit at that time. Now there is much more traffic.
