Utah Field Guide: Hand in Hand Outdoors

We’ve told you about Hand in Hand Outdoors and their boat they launched back in 2013 called Freedom’s Dream.

This non-profit organization, provides outdoor experiences to our nation’s veterans and those with special needs. They were in Manila holding another special event.

(Steve Henline, Ex Dir. Hand in Hand Outdoors) We felt and saw a need for another boat. So we bought a set of pontoons, with a crew of volunteers, all veterans we started from the ground up, we built the trailer and we built the boat. Today we are going to christen her, her name is Hope.

Hope will be stored at Lucerne Valley Marina, that is owned by the Taylor family. The Taylor’s also donated a 2 ½ acre parcel of land for a permanent retreat for our nation’s veterans. The boat and the camp will be a place of healing for our vets and families of veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

(Steve Henline) We believe that every freedom, every opportunity, everything that is good about the lives we live was paid for on the backs with the blood, the limbs and the very lives of the american patriots we call veterans. We as a community owe them a great thank you that cannot be repaid, but every single day that we can, we make that attempt.
