Utah Wildlife Board Upholds Trail Cam Ban

The Utah Wildlife Board held an administrative appeal hearing on it’s decision last January to ban all trail cameras during hunting season after it’s original decision received public push back on the matter. About 70 people signed up to voice their concerns. A majority that came to the mic voiced concerns about banning trail cameras. There were also several people in support of ban. The board decided to keep the rule they enacted in January. The new rule prohibits the use of all trail cameras in the harvest or to aid in the harvest of big game between July 31st and Dec. 31st. People also can’t buy or sell trail camera footage or data, location information or time and date of the footage to try to hunt big game. If you have questions about the new rule, be sure to visit the DWR website at wildlife.utah.gov
