Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week – 07/7/2012

[CG :2 LineChris Van LeeuwenPrehistoric fish]

We kick it off with Chris and his father Tom who had a great trip to the Snake River in Idaho last month. Check out just one of the monster sturgeon they brought to shore. Chris says it’s amazing to see these prehistoric fish come out of the water after they are hooked. Between the two of them they caught fish over six feet long and 200 pounds, a great day.

[CG :2 LineLarry Butterfield2 for 2]

Check out 11 year old Hunter Butterfield and his first ever turkey. Hunter says he and his dad were up Payson canyon on Mother’s day when three birds started to gobble. Two ended up coming in, Hunter shot one, dad the other. Both bird sport 9 inch beards and one and a quarter inch spurs, but Hunters was 4 pounds heavier than his dad’s.

[CG :2 LineRob Friedel70 days and counting]

Good friend Rob Friedel sent in some pictures off of last years waterfowl hunts. He says, There is only one thing a waterfowler is sure to remember. It’s not the birthdays, holidays, or anniversaries, it’s the date of the next Waterfowl Opener! By my our count it’s about 70 days until the kids get to be back in the marsh and start chasing quackers! Looking back Rob and the boys have had a great year with the kids, the sunsets and even the times when they told the kids not to try something and they still did. These memories will last a lifetime with these kids and we hope, they are looking forward to the hunt as much as we are.

[CG :2 LineJade MechamCaught the bug]

Seven year old Jade has caught the fishing bug after catching her first fish. A few weeks ago, her older sister and her older sisters boyfriend took her out and Jade hooked and reeled in her first ever fish all by herself.

[CG :2 LineKoby MosleyWINNER!]

and finally our winner tonight is the biggest bucket mouth Koby has ever caught. He was fishing Sand Hollow with his dad and friends when he launched a Rebel PopR near vegetation and the bass erupted on the lure. After the battle, the fish tipped the scale at around 5 pounds. Koby will spend a long time trying to beat this fish, but at age 12, he has plenty of time. Congrats kid on the fish and now you have something to remember it by, our big prize for having the snapshot of the week.

Remember submit your pictures and a brief explanation of your latest outdoor adventures on-line at KSLTV.com. The winner each week will win one of Camp Chef’s new innovative products.
