Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week: 1/25/14

We kick it off with a toothy first for Allen. Allen was invited by a buddy to Yuba, a place he’s never been to, to fish for pike, a fish he’s never caught. That all changed last week when Allen caught this 35 inch, 12 pound pike. Allen says he was super stoked about the catch.

This is the result of freezing fog. Back in December, Karson and his cousin Shane took an airboat ride on the Great Salt Lake to hunt some ducks. The fog was so thick you couldn’t see ten yards. They had to keep stopping to clear the ice out of their eyes so they wouldn’t freeze shut when they blinked. Karson says the cold was worth it as the birds that day worked perfectly.

Ice fishing on New Years Eve at Pelican Lake is an annual Marriott tradition. This year Mike, Meisha and Robert had a great trip catching plenty of bass and blue gill. This is Mike drilling the first holes with the beautiful sunrise as a backdrop. Robert says, here’s to 2014, may your lines be tight!

Kyle had a great ice fishing trip with his little princess and her cousin. Kyle says the kids were catching hand over fish, making the adults look bad. His princess even dropped a leg in an open ice hole, but that didn’t stop her. Atta girl, the memories made that day, made one day really proud.

But our winner tonight caught the boys in action doing one of their favorite things. Cody and his buddy Kolby took brothers Ty and Luke hunting pheasants on the Big Cottonwood Ranch, down by St. George. With Kolby on the camera and the boys at the ready, this rooster didn’t have a chance when he flushed in front of these two dead eyes. Cody says, from upland game to big game, his boys just love to hunt. Well Cody, here’s to taking your boys out! And the next time you guys head to the ranch or to the West Desert. You’ll have our big prize to take with you as they just won, our snapshot of the week.

Remember submit your pictures and a brief explanation of your latest outdoor adventures online at KSLTV.com. The winner each week wins a lightweight and portable Camp Chef Weekender-two burner stove. Plenty of power, great for camping from our friends over at Camp Chef.
