Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week – 1/5/2013

[CG :2 LineNorman LarsenCommunity Brown]

Thanksgiving weekend Grandpa Norman had his two grandsons Cooper and Colby over for a sleep over. The girls went shopping and the boys decided to go fishing at the local community pond and what a day they had. The boys spotted a big brown, Colby launched a spinner and the fight was on. The boys didn’t have a camera, so they returned the very next day and wouldn’t you know it, Cooper caught the same fish on the same lure. Grandpa say the fish is well over two feet long and and they put back for another youngster to one day enjoy.

[CG :2 LineBrian Gardner$25.00 bucks a piece!]

When Grady and Jaden found out that there was a 50 dollar reward for coyotes through the DWR’s Predator Control Program they were both “chomping at the bit” to go out and earn some dough. Before even setting up to do some calling, this big coyote walked right out in front of them, making it an easy shot for dad. The boys were excited already trying to decide what to do with their share of the reward money (25$ dollars each, leaving dad out of the bargain). Grady and Jaden are both extremely eager to get back out again and find some more toothy critters.

[CG :2 LineDave AdamsonRare triple]

Dave was hunting up in Cache Valley on the Bear River and decided to move his decoys to keep them from floating away and no sooner had he finished when a flock of 15 geese locked on his spread. Dave came up and dumped three of the birds making it a rare triple for him over water.

[CG :2 LineColt MullinsSleeping Beauty]

Colt took a trip to the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago and while hiking a trail, looked over and spotted this beautiful buck taking a nap. Colt snuck up on the buck and took this great shot just thirty yards off the trail.

[CG :2 LinePorter EvansFirst buck]

Young Porter Evans had a great weekend, with lots of hiking, riding and hard work. But it all paid off with this dandy buck, his first. Porter was hunting down near Escalante, it was the last day he and his family had to hunt and boy are they glad they stayed. It sounds like it was a great experience for the young man, some great memories for the whole family.

[CG :2 LineSpencer BradleyWINNER!]

But our winner tonight is a boy with a new found love of the hunt. Fifteen year old Spencer just started to hunt and is learning the ways of waterfowl.
