You like big bull elk? Well then you’ll love tonights snapshots. 13 year old Chase drew the youth elk tag and with the help of his dad Dale and his dads buddy, found this great bull.
Dale says they spotted the screaming bull and his 45 cows at a thousand yards, the herd was headed for water and Chase was in the perfect spot. At 100 yards, dad told chase to remove the safety and steady his nerves. Dale by the way was hyperventilating. Chase made a perfect shot, high fives all around. Chases bull is still the talk of the town in Vernal.

Ben just moved to Utah and just killed his first ever bull and he did it on a general season open bull archery tag on the North slope. Ben says he spent two weeks locating elk and boy did it pay off. He lured his bull to within 50 yards with a few sexy cow calls and made a great shot. He’d like to thank his father-in-law Kirk for all the advice and for helping his get this big boy off the mountain.

LaTaschia drew her first elk tag this year and dropped this nice bull on the second weekend. Lance her husband says they listened to this bull bugle for hours before they were able to call him to within yards. The bull was covered in mud and on a dead run when LaTaschia dropped him with one shot in the shoulder. A clean kill to fill the freezer.

At eight months pregnant, Kolbi Sorensen just shot her first big game animal, this beautiful six by six. She shot the bull at two hundred and eighty eight yards with a McMillan custom built 300 Remington Ultra Mag. No word on the baby, but Kolbi sure has a story to tell that youngster someday.

[CG :2 LineJason LoftusWINNER!]

and finally our winner tonight is a family adventure down on the Dutton. Jason spent almost the entire month hunting with his brother-in-law Damian trying to help him on his archery elk hunt. Damian never could close the deal, so come September 15th, it was Jason’s turn on the rifle hunt. Opening morning 10 minutes into the hunt, this bull walked out and Jason said it was an easy decision. The best part of the hunt Jason tells me is having his family, especially his two boys Jaden and Hunter along on the hunt. Well Jason, the next time you take the boys to the Dutton, you can take along our big prize for having just won our Camp Chef, Snapshot of the Week.
