Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week – 6/29/2013

[CG :2 LineKelly ParryFishing Family]

We kick it off with five year old Kacetin and some other ugly dude. Kacetin took third place in the youth category at the Flaming Gorge Derby this year with this 2.75 pound rainbow that netted him two hundred bucks. Not to be outdone, his older brother Kadyn, took fifth place and fifty bucks. The whole Parry family are fishing fools and the derby is something they look forward to every year.

[CG :2 LineErik NebekerBoat-less bonaza]

Eric and his brothers went down to Powell for a weekend of houseboat work, but didn’t bring their fishing boat. They finished working on the houseboat early and talked their slip neighbors into taking them to Moki to chase stripers. Erik says the fishing was fast, all five were hooked up at the same time, multiple times. Not a bad haul for a boat-less trip to Lake Powell.

[CG :2 LineMatt Turleymonster muskie]

Matt was fishing at Little Payette lake in Idaho for smallmouth and was just about to pull off the lake, when he got a huge hit. He set the hook, the fish started rippin line and when Matt finally got the fish to the boat, he realized he’d hook a monster muskie. Finally after a 45 minute battle on his 10 pound line, Matt landed this 43 inch, 34 pound beast. One of Matt’s best fishing days to date.

[CG :2 LineMarte McKee30 inch club]

Here’s another toothy critter for you and no were not talking about the cute kid holding the fish. Marte says, Andy loves to fish, always has. But, this was his first day chasing northerns at Yuba. This is Andy’s biggest of the day, put him in the 30 inch club. Andy says next time, he wants to break forty.

[CG :2 LineSgt. Wayne KeithWINNER!]

But our winner tonight was on a exercise and encountered a sure footed ram. Sergeant Wayne Keith is a member of the Utah County Metro Swat team. He and his crew stumbled upon this big horn sheep near Moab and watched it make quick work of what looked to be a vertical cliff. Sergeant Keith says the ram took a position straddling a cliff and seemed to say “this is easy, quite standing around and come on up.” The boys took time to take a few pictures and now their story, has landed Sergeant Keith our great prize for having the snapshot of the week.

Remember submit your pictures and a brief explanation of your latest outdoor adventures online at KSLTV.com. The winner each week wins a Camp Chef two burner Explorer stove. Portability and Power from our friends at Camp Chef.
