Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week – 6/22/2013

After watching our trip to Lake Powell a few weeks ago and seeing the success we had catching Stripers, the Anderson boys decided to give it a try. Three year old Lewis wasn’t so sure at first, but after watching his older brothers Marcus and Russell reel some in, he decided to get in on the action and attempted to clean the fish himself. Dad stepped in and said not so fast!

After days of her husband begging her to go fishing, Mary finally relented and gave it a try. They were fly fishing Lost Creek when Mary got a hit and landed this beautiful, twenty four inch rainbow. Mary says, she out fished her husband and her son-in-law and hopefully they ask her to go again.

Brett took his daughter and her best friend fishing to his secret lake. In three days they caught and released nearly ninety fish, keeping a few to eat. The fun didn’t end there, after the girls got out of the boat, they decided to give the bows a few smooches. Dad, thought it was pretty comical.

[CG :2 LineMelissa InskeepCaught a buck!]

On the opening morning of last years rifle deer hunt, Melissa and her family were fishing at Jordanelle and catching some nice rainbows. They noticed a hunter waving at them from shore. Turns out one of the boys in the group had shot a buck, that ran into the lake. They motored over to find this nice three by three and returned it to the hunters. Melissa says when people ask if they shot a deer last year, she tells them no, but we did catch one up at Jordanelle.

And finally our winner tonight leant a helping hand to some baby owls. David and his son Jared were out on Antelope island working on Jared’s Eagle Scout project when they were asked to help move some baby great horned owls to a safe area. The babies had fallen out of their tree, and their parents were quite worried. David says it was one of those once in a lifetime experiences he will never forget. Well David, here’s something else to help you remember your day on the island with your son, our great prize for having…the snapshot of the week.
