Grandpa Roberts wanted to take his boat out for his Birthday and Father’s day. So, they loaded up the grandkids and off they went to Andy Adams Reservoir in Layton. The water was calling the kids name. Gannon re-named Cannon Balls to “Gannon Balls.” and young Madison was able to catch this rainbow before Gannon scared them away.
Marianne Stein
Marianne and her husband, longtime outdoors reporter and my mentor Reece Stein can often be found hiking trails in the Wasatch Mountains. On an early morning hike up the Wasatch Crest Trail above Brighton they ran into two bulls and then this mature bull at the end of Millcreek Canyon. Marianne and Reece stay young and in shape by chasing grandkids and exploring Utah’s backcountry.
Elisha Mitchell
On a family vacation to Joe’s Valley Reservoir, the Mitchell family caught some huge, toothy tiger musky. Elisha and Britney love spending time with their mom and dad outdoors. Here’s the girls posing with Elisha’s 31 inch tiger, but dad Steve beat them all this this fine 37 inch fish. They say it was the best fight they’ve had in a long time.

Check out Wes and his 38 pound Mack he caught at the gorge. Wes says he only had on 8 pound leader and was using a medium weight rod when the laker bit his four inch jig. The fish put up a 30 minute fight and was released to fight another day.

But our winner tonight had a great trip for his first trip to Yellowstone Lake. Justin and his buddies Pete and Joe, took a boat across Yellowstone lake, camped and found a bunch willing, beautiful Yellowstone Cutthroat trout. Justin says the weather was perfect, no rain, and cloudless nights that allowed him to capture this great starry night shot.
