Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week – 9/24/2011

We kick it off with the McDougal family on a recent fishing trip to Deer Creek. Pictured is Dad Jacob and his son Ryder, who according to mom, “was really enjoying the trip. All Ryder wanted to do was hold the fish.” A great time with a big bow.

Britney Hall was two weeks past her due date, when her brother Jared talked her into a fishing trip. Britney ended up catching the only fish of the day and said. “I may not have gotten any action in the labor department, but I did get some on the lake. Six days later 11 pound, Ryder Hall was born and moms already planning his second fishing trip.

Last year Kyle drew a great Eastern Utah elk tag, was able to get his brother who has been serving in the US Army to go with him and together the brothers had a great hunt. They were into 15 bulls on the first day of the hunt and Kyle sellted on this great seven by eight that scored just under 360 Boone and Crockett points.

The Hansen family took a summer trip up into the Uintas to give 12 year old Jaimee a chance to catch a fish. Cherie, her mother says Jaimee surprised herself as she landed this great bow up at Lily Lake.

Back in July, the Talbot family had a trip to Alaska they won’t forget. They started off fishing for Kings and Sockeyes on the Kenai. Daughter, Hollee ended up with the biggest catch, a huge 45 pound Chinook. The family saw bears at the Russian river falls, whales on a Kenai Fords cruise and made some great family memories.

But our winner tonight is a few old coots and a big fish. Back in June Ralph decided to take his 81 year old neighbor Earl Kearn to Flaming Gorge for a mac attack. It was Earls first time fishing the Gorge and after a little coaching, he proceeded to school them all, catching a 27 pounder, then topped it off with this 30 pound mac.

Two days prior to the trip, Earl was involved in a massive car accident, but wasn’t about to miss this fishing trip of a lifetime. Ralph says, “Earl really deserved landing those monsters.” And now, Ralph, you too deserve something for the great pictures and video…our grand prize for having the Camp Chef, Snapshot of the Week.
