Fish Tech Fishing Report for 7/21/2012

WILLARD BAY

Fishing is very good for walleye using bottom bouncers trailing a worm on windy days. Biologist Chris Penny says the walleye population is potentially the highest the reservoir has seen in a decade! Wiper fishing is fair trolling crankbaits. Smallmouth bass can be caught pitching crankbaits and plastics along the dyke.

GREEN RIVER

Flows 1500 CFS, during the day. Dry flyfishing has been good. Lots of Sallies, PMD’s and Caddis. Ants, beetles, hoppers, and crickets in good numbers. Use: Yellow Stimulators, Sally Patterns, Elk Hair Caddis or Brown Mamba Ant or Chernobyl Ants.
