Daybreak on a swan hunt, took the picture not knowing how beautiful it was, my friends all told to submit it. No birds flying low enough to harvest but still a great day on the marsh spending time with family & friends and after all that’s what hunting is about for me😀

Last Saturday I was fortunate enough to shoot my limit of pheasants in Davis County (where I live), which I have not done since I hunted this same area back in 1989 with my Dad who passed last December. The first point came right after my Setter, Tucker, helped a dog-less hunter find his downed bird. A second point and shot followed shortly thereafter. I was fortunate to capture both with these pics. Tucker would go on point to help two more hunters find and shoot birds before we made it back to the truck. Many thanks to the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources and their efforts in the pheasant release project each year, and to a couple of fellow uplanders who knew how to share a field.
Oaklee once again accomplished a first in her short but incredible hunting career! Oaklee was able to bag her first swan! First waterfowl species actually. Oaklee was so excited, she was shaking. I don’t know if she was more excited she got the swan or to watch the dog retrieve it! Big thanks to our good friend Skyler for taking us and providing us with this opportunity.

My husband and I learned almost everything we know about fly fishing from my bonus dad Dave. One of the most important things we’ve learned is that every last fish counts!

Loving this view!! Boys and Bird dogs today. These two surprised me with their willingness to walk a few miles to try our luck on birds. Came up empty handed for birds but a full limit of memories! Great to be out with the dogs and them hunting for spent shells left behind. Picked up plenty to help clean the wetlands.
