My wife Tiffany and I fish the 2nd annual trout tournament at Navajo Lake in September. We landed 24 fish that day and weighed in 4. We won first, second and third place. My wife’s best fish that day was a 16” tiger trout. It was the first trophies she’d ever won! So very proud of her!

30 and 1/2 inch mule deer buck taken on the San Juan.
I was fortunate enough to harvest this buck on the last morning of the early season deer hunt, October 15. I was down in the Fillmore Unit. My brother-in-law, saw this 3×3 and four does feeding on the side of a hill. The shot was right at 200 yards with only 56 ft. Of elevation increase and the buck slightly quartered away from me. I have only been hunting for about five years now, so this was my first time drawing any tag as the hunter. I am almost 35. To say I was nervous and excited is an understatement! I had a little case of “Buck Fever” and had a hard time getting my sight picture set on this deer! The deer was hit with a double long shot and dropped where it stood. Not bad for my first one! And hopefully not my last or my best!!!
