I shot this spike elk the day of the solar eclipse. I took this picture of it, later discovered there were 2 face images in the gold coloring, between the elk’s neck to his front legs. Can you see them ??? One is looking straight on the other is looking to the left, next to the straight on one. Like a autostereogram picture. I guess the solar eclipse made it look this way.
Hers is an awesome pick of buck and doe showing affection. We have seen this pair together over the past few months in an area that is private property and where hunting is not allowed by the property owner. We are hoping that she keeps him close by and he doesn’t wander onto public land during the hunt….we would love to see them again!! (Camera is one used on private property where no hunting is allowed and used for monitoring property for trespass, etc.)

Had a fun time on this new middle bull elk hunt on the manti got it done at the end of the hunt with a 700 yard shot thanks to all the family that helped

After months of chasing elk in Utah and Idaho with my wife and not even letting an arrow fly, we decided to take an Anniversary trip to Estes Park to get up close and personal. We were not disappointed. We literally had elk fighting off the front porch and all around the cabin we rented. There is no better way to get pumped up for the rut next year than spending time in Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park. Just makes us more determined than ever to practice, practice, practice, with the bows and arrows. Next year Elk, next year.
