My dad and daughter in law drew muzzleloader tags this year. We all went down to one of our favorite hunting spots. We had 4 generations with my dad, my son, myself and Baby Beau, who turned 2 during the hunt, along with the rest of the family. My son really wanted to get a deer while we were all there, grandparents, kids, dog and all. He was pretty tickled how it all turned out when his wife was able to harvest this beautiful buck the night we were all on all the mountain together. It’s a spot my dad and uncle hunted as young men. Just a place we really love. Baby Beau was first to take a picture with mom and boy did he cheese it up. We are grateful for these moments on the mountain together.
Well it took 27 years to draw this tag and lots of help from family and friends. We spent most of the time riding around in a side by side because of my age. I’m 85 and I don’t hike like I use to. We spent a lot of time looking and just spending time with my husband, son and grandsons until we spotted one that was on the fight and was grunting and fighting the brush. My son started grunting and beating the brush as well and it wasn’t long before the bull was on his way. He came within 75 yards but I was unable to get a shot. He spooked and went back down the canyon. My son kept grunting and beating the brush and soon the bull was back in an opening were I was able to get a shot with a 300 mag . The bull went about 20 yards and fell over. The excitement filled the air and the work began. Thanks to everyone that made the dream come true.

After failing all week to sneak up on two big 6 points my husband was able to get me in on this 3 point. As you can see our 8 month old was not as excited once we got it back to camp.
