Jett enjoyed many great adventures waterfowl hunting with his Dad this past fall. This one was particularly memorable because when Jett went to recover this Merganser he found a small fish inside the sharp bill! It was a two for one!

Nolan Olsen returns to waterfowl hunting after 30 years absence with his nephew Spencer Olsen as his mentor. Luck was with them this year as they both drew Swan tags. They where both able to fill there tags in late November at Howard Slew. Thanks to Andrew Clark and Spencer Olsen for getting the waterfowl bug back to Nolan, he also harvested his first goose this past season

I took this photo at Salt Creek WMA. It was the opener to the pheasant hunt. It’s moments like this, that I love. No birds were taken that morning, but we did get some later that day.
This Bonneville Cutthroat was more of a challenge than expected. After hooking him, while setting the hook, my fly rod got stuck on a branch in the thick brush. The little guy was fighting hard, so hard that he broke the tip off of my fly rod that was stuck in the trees. The fiasco was wild and costly, but it was wonderful that I was still able to land this dark young bonnie with a nice orange slash across his jaw.

Trigger fished and fished. Just as we were about to head home from Cowpuncher Gaurd Station he caught this fish on some sliced mild cheddar cheese.
Ice fishing at Scofield Reservoir February 15 2025. Nice cutthroat around 24 inches long. My personal best.
