While out duck and swan hunting after a snow storm in late November birds were moving slow and not much going on but the fog rolled in and presented a beautiful picture as it engulfed the bay around us. Sometimes you may not get the birds or outcome you want but when nature gives you pictures like these it makes up for it!

When a little boy wants to go fishing, nothing can stop him! My grandson Ridge Rogers of Oak City wanted to get one more fishing trip in before the fall weather turned bad. But no adults could take him. That didn’t stop him and his friend Macray as they hoped on their bikes with fishing poles over their shoulders and headed out to fish in the small ditch that ran through town. Imagine all the grown-ups surprise when Ridge came home with this whopper that made it through all the mountain streams to end up in the town ditch! It was so heavy he had to put it in a garbage bag to carry it home on his bicycle. His smile says it all!
