Took 23 years to draw my Limited Entry Elk for late rifle on Boulder. I hired High Top Outfitters to help ensure my success!! With guide Jason Porter, we set up on a bull opening morning that we had seen the day before. He never showed up and we found this bull farther up the canyon. We made a stalk on him and he slipped over the rim. We regrouped, broke out the maps and went after him. We busted trail in the almost 2′ of snow at times and cut his tracks. We figured we’d try to hit some vantage points on the way back to camp on our way back to camp. The first ridge we went out we turned him up bedded in some thick quakies. We made a 700 yard stalk on him. Set up on him multiple times and finally we had a shooting lane through the trees. Threaded the needle with a well placed shot and the rest is history!! Had an amazing experience, got a great bull and made a life long friend in my guide!! Bull taped out at 340″!! I couldn’t be happier!!

I was down at Summit Point/ Ucolo in San Juan County to visit my dad about a month ago and saw this totally incredible cloud…. youre kidding…. whith a rainbow straw. I`ve seen lots of clouds and rainbows (I`m get`n kinda old) but this was shocking! I got about 15 shots over 20 minutes, this is my favorite. my dear grandmother Maggie hasn’t been with us for some time but when I was younger, she always commented how lovely the clods in SJ are. no doubt grandma!
After jumping this buck and tracking it over 400 yards in the snow, we caught up to this buck and Korbin made a good shot on his first deer.
Took the family out pheasant hunting and was able to find one bird and my lab “Trigger” even went on point for it! My wife and the boys are still talking about it and Trigger is still proudly walking around knowing he made it all happen! A great memory for sure!

Late Season hunt with a good friend on the wasatch front. Knee deep snow and cliffed out canyons led us right to our only opportunity for the day, to stalk this buck. A short couple hours later, and one lethal arrow. We found ourselves packing meat back to the trucks. Perfect timing, Thanksgiving is right around the corner!

My son Gauge Magee with his first swan harvested at Howard’s Slough on 11-13-22. Quite an amazing shot in high wind. I’m proud of him and happy for his success.

My Husband and I have been married almost 18 years. We have always talked about going on a Whitetail hunt. Last Christmas I gave Lorenzo a whitetail hunt to make one of our dreams come true. Well, we finally got to go and check it off our Bucket list. Not only did I score an amazing Whitetail with my bow (being the first animal I’ve shot with my bow), but we were very fortunate to get a Unique White Majestic Whitetail . Never did we think we would get such a magnificent beautiful animal. This hunt made so many dreams come true and thankful we could do it together.
