Hiked a couple hillsides to get a shot on him at about 120 yards. Didn’t have a chance to run. What an amazing buck and an amazing experience with my dad.

Having been fortunate to work in Yellowstone National Park for the past few years, I get to see sights like this, the MilkyWay. This photo was taken from top of Avalanche Peak in Yellowstone. A steep 2 mile hike with over 2400 feet of elevation gain. This photo was taken at 3 am after making a night hike to the top. If you look closely, you can see Yellowstone Lake at the bottom of the picture.

Limited entry elk permit that took me 16 years. I drew Fishlake and on November 13, 2024 shot this 6X7 bull elk measuring 328. Itis my first elk and I shot it at the age of 76.
Broc (dad), Luke (17 yrs old) and Cody (13 yrs old) endured the early snowstorm during elk camp this year. The weather finally cleared and Luke located and stalked an elk herd for almost a mile before finally getting a shot on this cow elk. Then, two weeks later, Cody was able to harvest his first big game animal as a mentored hunter under Broc’s cow elk tag. Very well earned after many years being a faithful wingman to Broc and Luke with their packouts. He packed out both front quarters with a smile knowing this pack out was his. Broc is a very proud father with two sons that filled their family’s freezer.
