A successful hunt using my late father’s old, trusty recurve bow and arrow.

My Nephew Jonah caught this big 10 lb. catfish at utah lake. His largest fish in his life. He also caught a 7.5 lb and 30 white bass also. His younger brother also was fishing and caught a 5 and 7.5 lb catfish and 60 white bass. They loved the five hour fishing trip and they learned how to fish and how to safely release all the fish caught.

Sunset on the Henry Mountains. Scouting for deer to fill my tag later this month.
On our Labor Day trip to the Lower Barker Reservoir on the Boulder mountain, my 5 year old son McKoy caught his first fish. It turned out to be a big 18 inch Tiger Trout that weighed 5 pounds. It had a nice hooked jaw and humped back, and was as thick as it was wide. He caught the fish on his brand new kid sized fishing pole we purchased just for the trip. The line had only been in the water for a couple of minutes while I was getting my pole ready when the fish took the bait and almost pulled the pole into the water. McKoy worked on reeling in the line for a couple of minutes until it came up too the dock. We did not have a net so we had to work together and let the fish tire with multiple runs so I could get close enough to grab is mouth. After catching it he was so excited to take pictures with it, and made sure to show every person who walked by what he caught. He couldn’t wait to take it home to cook it up for dinner. It was a great weekend that he said he would never forget.
