I haven’t wandered far from my own backyard lately; however, it’s exciting when wild things drop by for a visit. For example, this young goshawk who perched atop my fence just long enough for me to snap its picture. I’m thinking it was on the hunt for mice, and if looks could kill, he would have surely got one.

This is a silver mallard and in Utah is rare to shoot, the chances of shooting another is next to zero, I shot this bird with a hen and has to chase then hen before I could pick up the drake, the excitement that I went through when I picked up the bird was unreal, when I was done I drove straight to the taxidermist.
