Our winner this week caught a blizzard of white wings down in Delta. Richard Menzies went to Gunnison Bend Reservoir to witness the spectacle of migrating snow geese. Each February, thousands of migrating snow geese converge on Gunnison Bend Reservoir. There, they form a vast floating, feathered flotilla. Richard says, just a few hours before sunset the entire flock suddenly took flight. He says, it was quite a sight! They sounded like a jet airplane taking off. The birds will often feed in the local fields, rest on the lake and then in a week or so are gone.
