Snapshot of the Week: Nov. 7, 2015

Darren kicks it off with this dandy buck he hunted for four days. Darren says he passed up four points left and right before he was finally able to sneak within 115 yards of this buck and get a shot with his muzzleloader. The buck didn’t go 10 yards before hitting the dirt. He says he’s never seen his dad jump so high after seeing the buck go down, both had huge smiles on their faces.

Rusty took his two kids, Oaklee and Easton out for their first hunt on his archery spike elk hunt and the little rascals sat like pros and never made a sound. Rusty and his buddy were able to get in the middle of herd and they shot two tasty spikes in 15 minutes. Rusty says this hunt was even more memorable because he was able to spend it with the kids.

After putting this six point bull to bed the night before the rifle elk hunt started, Jaidyn woke early to go on the annual elk drive with her grandpa Sammi. This 6 point bull was taken along with 4 cow elk. All Jaidyn had to say when it was over was, “How come she didn’t get to shoot the big daddy with her gun?”

Twenty year old Whiney Hansen made a perfect 150 yard shot on this nanny on her once in a lifetime goat hunt on the Tushars. The family scouted hard, hiked many miles and Whitneys 80 year old grandpa was more excited about her kill than she was! It’s a hunt this family will never forget.

But our winner tonight will have a hard time ever getting, let alone seeing another buck like this. thirteen year old Brody Butler is all smiles after taking this amazing eleven by eight buck during Utah’s general season rifle hunt. Dad Blake says Brody was relatively calm during the stalk and shot, but after the big buck dropped, old “Buck Feaver” got the best of him and young Brody couldn’t stop shaking. That is an amazing buckskin Brody, I’m sure you realize how special this hunt was. And you got to share it with the old man. Not bad at all. Now you boys take home our great prize for having just won…our snapshot of the week.
