Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week – 4/6/2013

[CG :2 LineJustin Browning Christensen”A little lucky”]

We kick it off with 17 year old Justin, who drew out for a Willard Peak mountain goat hunt with only three points. Not only that, but he ended up with the #10 goat in state history. Justin says, you could say that he got a little lucky with his hunt.

[CG :2 LineTed Fitzgerald”Never to old”]

Ted Fitzgerald and his 85 year old friend Art Meredith had a great fishing trip to Otter Creek three weeks ago. In less than two hours they had hooked many good sized trout and just as Ted was about to get to cleaning their catch, Art latched into the catch of the day. Ted says, the “look on Art’s face shows that catching a big fish never gets old, even when we do.”

Vincent and his buddy Steve pose with a mess of ugly after a good carp shoot in their secret spot in Sevier County. As the water warms, the bowfishing heats up. If you’d like to get involved remember to check out Utahbowfishing.com for tournament information as well as just getting your family out shooting carp.

[CG :2 LineBrent CoffinWasatch Lion]

Brent’s two year quest for a trophy tom on the Wasatch Front finally came to fruition last month. Brent says he chased this big cat for five miles, it was an excruciating hike and run with good friends and the hounds. Brent couldn’t be happier with his success and the beauty of his once in a lifetime lion.

But our winner tonight was out with his son on a hike and made a lasting memory they will never forget. Travis and his three year old son Kendrix, along with grandpa Todd were hiking down near Fillmore when they stumbled upon a fresh elk shed. Shortly after they were able to find the match and young Kendrix was all smiles and amazed at how big the elk antlers are. Travis is excited to watch his son learn the ways of the outdoors like his dad taught him at a young age. That is a great memory Travis, one we hope you also remember as they day you not only found the elk shed, but also won our snapshot of the week.

Remember submit your pictures and a brief explanation of your latest outdoor adventures online at KSLTV.com. The winner each week wins a Camp Chef two burner Explorer stove. Portability and Power from our friends at Camp Chef.
