Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week: 5/31/2014

Tonights snapshots were all caught hook, line and sinker. Rob and his dad had a great day catching some monster Utah rainbows. Rob didn’t say where he and his old man had their epic day and who could blame him, those are some fantastic fish.

Mandy went with the boys up to Panguitch Lake for some fishing when she latched into something big. Mandy ended up catching the biggest fish of her life, outfishing the boys, because they all, got skunked.

Mark hit the berry this year, just after ice off and hit a rainbow jackpot with the biggest bow he’s ever caught. Mark says the fishing was fantastic, and the fight was unbelievable.

Wayne and his son Carter have a tradition of hunting ducks on the Green River and when the birds don’t fly they grab their rod and reels and tackle the brown trout to ease Conner’s fishing bug. This trip Conner caught the two biggest but had to let them go because they were just an inch inside the slot limit. No worries as Conner proclaimed, “they’ll be bigger next year, big enough to put on the wall.

David and his wife took their five year old grandson ?? up to Currant Creek to fish. ??? was having a great time playing in the rocks and mud, when Grandma told him his rod was taking off into the lake. The tiger put up quite the fight, but with a little help from grandpa, ??? Landed this 23 inch, five pound tiger.

But our winner tonight almost beat the state record tiger trout with this eighteen pound fish she caught at Scofield. Melissa and her family usually fish from shore, but this year they got a boat and boy did it pay off. While trolling pop gear and trailing a chub, Melissa’s rod went off, the big fish nearly snapped her rod in two when it hit. This tiger trout is just one pound, two ounces shy of the state record caught at Scofield last year. This big tiger is going on the wall as soon as the family finds a taxidermist. Not too bad Melissa and here’s something to go along with that new boat, our big prize, for having just won the snapshot of the week.
