Camp Chef Snapshot of the Week – 6/8/2013

[CG :2 LineBart WilsonToothy pike]

We kick it off with some toothy pike from Yuba. Bart and Jessica had a great fishing trip hooking many small northerns. But finally Bart latched into this pig of a fish that was over forty inches. He says they weren’t as prepared as they should have been, they needed a bigger net for these toothy fish, but he says, it was a wonderful day of fishing, on the lake.

[CG :2 LineShane Newbolddouble-double]

One of Shane’s lifelong goals has been to share his passion for the outdoors with his three girls and now his son-in-laws. You can tell by the smile on Lindsay’s face that Shane has accomplished his goal. This year he wanted to shoot a double. Two fish with one shot. He not only achieved that goal once, but twice. One right after the other! The coveted double-double.

[CG :2 LineWeston LarsenFriendly calf]

Weston was out riding and came upon a cow elk and her calf. The cow took off, but the calf stayed behind. Weston says the calf came over and nuzzled up to the horse. He jumped off to get a picture and says the calf was really friendly.

[CG :2 LineBrett Colvinhounding the fox]

Check out this beautiful shot Brett took of this juvenile red fox. Brett spent many days finding the den in the wetlands of Davis County. This kit became curious enough to approach him to within four yards where he snapped this wild shot.

[CG :2 LinePaul & Sage WrightWINNER!]

But our winner tonight found skiing, and fishing in the high Unita Mountains. Paul and Sage Wright had a great ski off of Moffit Peak then, they grabbed their fishing rods and headed off to Whitney Lake. Using a gold Jakes, Sage was the first to hook up, landing this huge twenty six inch tiger trout. Sage was so excited to get fishing, he forgot to take off his helmut. A great moment they will never forget and the next time they head to the Unita’s they’ll have our great prize to take with them, as they just won our…snapshot of the week.

Remember submit your pictures and a brief explanation of your latest outdoor adventures online at KSLTV.com. The winner each week wins a Camp Chef two burner Explorer stove. Portability and Power from our friends at Camp Chef.
