Fish Tech Fishing Report for 10/22/2011

Dan Smith from Fish Tech Outfitters: I get questions about fishing line all the time, here’s a few things you need to know. The monofilament line was one of the first lines, it stretches, it absorbs water, the sun and the heat will decay it. Fluorocarbon has little stretch, the sun and the heat does not bother it. Now you got fuse-line which is a material that’s fused together; straight fibers. Then you’ve got a braided line; all the fibers are braided just like you’d braid hair. These two have no stretch, the sunlight doesn’t bother them also, they don’t decay. Now, they’ve come out with a new one that is called nano-fil. It has the same characteristics as braid, but it’s got a real slick finish on it. If you put it on a bait caster it will cut inside of itself so they do not suggest it for bait casters. So If you have any questions, come on down to Fish Tech and we’ll help you out.
