Boy the weather is getting hot. That means the fish are going deep. You have to get down there. Hi, I’m Dan Smith from Fish Tech Outfitters. Here’s a few ways to do it.
One way is to take a banana weight on your rod, put a leader on and a lure. This will bring you down. Another way is let out some line and use a snap weight. You snap this on your line, drop it down, bring it back in, pull it off and reel the fish in. We have the clips here and we have the weights here. Another way that is really popular is lead core line. Now if you are going to use line, you need a big reel. Most reels don’t hold enough lead core to do you any good. Come in and we’ve got some bigger reels for you that you can put the lead core on and get you down deep. Another way is with a downrigger.
This is probably the most efficient way to do it. You put your ball on your down rigger. You take your release, hook your line up, drop it down to the right depth. When the fish hits it, it pops it off the ball so you don’t have to reel that in, all you are reeling in is the fish.
