Snapshot of the Week: June 14, 2015

Buddies Bryce and JT both drew limited entry turkey permits for Southern Utah and were both lucky enough to bag two mature toms on the opening morning of their hunt. Bryce says they had a wonderful hunt, a true Southern Utah outdoor adventure.

Trevor and his dad have a mutual hobby of taking pictures of wildlife, especially those with wings. While out with his dad, Trevor caught this great shot of an osprey in flight. Trevor says, He never realized how beautiful the osprey is until he captured these great up close shots.

Jeremiah hit the trailhead in Big Cottonwood canyon and made the 6 mile round trip hike to beautiful Lake Blanche. He then decided to kick back his feet and take a selfie with a beautiful view of the 10,320 foot Sundial Peak in the background.

Our runner up tonight is this amazing shot that Trenton’s girlfriend took of their Diamond Mountain fly fishing expedition. Trenton was battling a nice rainbow from Calder Reservoir. When his girlfriend picked up her camera just as the setting sun lit the sky and the water ablaze with color. That is one spectacular shot.

And finally our winner tonight watched a sow teach her cub a lesson while he was vacationing in Teton National Park.
Ryan spotted this timid, completely nervous and shy cub gain confidence from it’s mother who was continuously trying to assure it that is was safe to cross the river. Ryan says, mama grizz was so patient, and her efforts so inspiring he just had to take her picture. No doubt a great memory, and one heck of a shot Ryan. One that just won our snapshot of the week.
