Snapshot of the Week: June 20, 2015

We kick it off with this newborn Jim found while hiking to his bear bait back in May. Jim says he came around the corner and found this fawn standing in the road. With it’s mama watching, Jim snapped a few pictures, backed off and let the doe came in and take her fawn into the woods. Jim says it was a rainy, sloppy day, he even got stuck, but this picture was worth every bit of it.

Brian took his son Braden out on a family ride and Braden wanted to be just like dad and use the binoculars. Brain says everywhere Braden looked he seemed to be finding deer. Dad can’t wait for this little guy to grow up so he really can be his hunting partner.

Andy was out with his dad and grandpa fishing the Lucerne Valley Marina fishing derby at Flaming Gorge. The weekend fishing was hot for fat, tasty kokanee. Andy was able to beat his father and grandfather to the rod and hauled in this beautiful koke, that he entered it into the derby and won fourth place. The kid is still on cloud nine.

Rick was on his way into Yellowstone National Park when his group spotted this grizzly out soaking up the suns rays on this hillside. Rick says the big bear didn’t seem to mind the snapping of their shudders as they took its picture.

But our winner tonight endured a wet weekend to finally punch his tag. Jaden says the rains held out just long enough for his to have some great bear hunting weather. With overcast skies and mild temperatures they dogs were sent on in hot pursuit of this big boars tracks. By ten am, Jaden was under the tree and claiming his trophy. Sounds like a great hunt Jaden, with some great pictures that has landed you our big prize for having…the snapshot of the week.
