We kick it off with a first for Thomas and his nine year old son Bracken. This was the first bear hunt Thomas has been on, and what an amazing hunt he and Bracken had. The smile on Bracken’s face says it all. Thomas says, these boys plan on making this a yearly tradition.
This is Gunnar, Catcher and Dillion with a mess of channel cats they caught at Utah Lake. This was the boys first time cat fishing and I’m sure not their last.
Daniel went to an area on the Weber we featured a few years ago and say’s the fishing was great! He caught some nice browns. He says he loves this place because its so close, but he’s already planning his trip to the Green River for some more brown trout action.
Here’s something you don’t see very often. Chuck has wild turkeys on his property up in the mountains. He says if he and his wife hold really still, they’ll allow them to take their picture. This is a hen that would fly up into their tree and eat out of their bird feeders. If you look really close, you’ll notice this hen, has a beard. Chuck says, he thinks they have a friend for life.
But our winner tonight got her first bird, on the last day of her general season turkey hunt. Doug and his ten year old daughter Kallie, slipped up the mountain for one last go at it. After two hours and plenty of calling they finally had this tom headed their way. Kallie got to watch this big guy strut for ten minutes before she sealed the deal with a perfectly placed shot. That is one bid bird Kallie, worthy of our big prize, as you just hauled in our snapshot of the week.
